DIY Natural Shaving Lotion

This natural shaving lotion works by creating a moisturizing layer between your razor and your delicate skin, helping to reduce and avoid razor burn, irritation, and redness.

Jojoba oil coats the skin, acting as a barrier that also softens, giving you a closer shave with less irritation. Shea Butter moisturizes and softens skin, and also helps soothe irritation. Castile Soap cleanses and creates a light lather.

Prep Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Castile Soap
  • 1 Tbsp Jojoba Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Shea Butter
  • 2-3 Drops Essential Oil*

Instructions

  1. Combine melted shea butter with jojoba oil, castile soap, and essential oil.

  2. Pour into container with a lid (airtight if using essential oils) or a soap pump attachment.

To Use:

  1. Apply a quarter sized amount to your skin and lather with water. Shave and rinse off excess lotion.

Storage:

  1. Store in a cool place, and prevent water from entering the container.

Cautions:

  1. Essential oils are very concentrated and should be used with care. We recommend learning about each essential oil before use in order to fully benefit from them.

Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have pre-existing health conditions. Keep away from children and pets.

*Many essential oils are beneficial to the skin. Here are some oils we recommend.

Lavender Essential Oil is relaxing and soothes irritated, sensitive skin. It’s so versitile that can be added to many homemade beauty and skincare products.

Tea Tree Essential Oil cleanses and fights bacteria, helping to reduce infected ingrown hairs. Not everyone loves the smell of tea tree, so we recommend you add another oil along with the tea tree.

Ylang Ylang essential oil soothes and softens skin. Just be sure to add very little, as the scent can be overwhelming.
